Fifty companies listed on the bourse saw shares exchange hands, leaving 17 gainers and 26 losers. The biggest gainers for the day were Bank of Kigali (+9.52%), Stanbic Bank (+4.85%), Liberty Insurance Holdings (3.59%), Total Limited (+2.91%), and Home Afrika at (+2.50%). Kigali, as the biggest gainer, closed its share price at Kshs 13.80. The top five losers were Transcentury Holdings, dropping at (-9.63%) to close at Kshs 1.22, followed by TPS East Africa Serena (-7.54%), Olympia Capital (-6.97%), Carbacid Investments, which was the biggest gainer on Monday, dropped its share price to close at Kshs 8.22. Housing Finance Group closed the day at Kshs 3.19 with a -6,45% drop.
In Volumes, ABSA was the biggest mover with 5.38 million shares exchanging hands, bringing the newly restructured bank’s total market capitalization to Kshs 54.32 billion. This was followed closely by Safaricom, with 4.83 million shares trading hands. Other movers for the day were Kenya Commercial Bank, Cooperative Bank, and KPLC.
