The Covid-19 pandemic sees Kenyans restructure old loans, and seek new ones under new loan restructure terms. Credit information agency Metropol CRB has launched its mobile app platform to allow Kenyans to download their credit score information.
According to Metropol’s MD Sam Omukoko, the new Covid-19 loan restructure product provides the necessary, correct credit information. This will have the users safely engage with lenders on matters such as negotiation their loan restructure conditions. The valid credit information provided will also allow lenders to come up with terms and conditions for existing loans.
“Our service available on our digital platform(Crystobol App) gives borrowers in distress a document they can use to reach out to their creditors for loan restructuring through mobile phones,” says Mr. Omukoko.
Customers will have to register with the Metropol Crystobol App to display the Covid-19 loan restructure product. Accessing the feature allows users to review all their outstanding loans, select one to restructure, and submit to the respective lender.
The credit agency also made the Metropol Identity Theft Service(MITS) as a feature to alert subscribers on identity theft-related fraud to access credit. The premium SMS service sits among other products on subscription, such as credit application alert.
