In today’s briefing, the CS Mutahi Kagwe announced 9 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total tally to 225. All the 9 cases were from Kenyans, who were neither admitted in the quarantined centers nor had travel history. Five of the nine patients were from Nairobi and four from Mombasa.
The ministry of health has monitored 2,336 persons who were in contact with the positive cases, and out of these, 1911 have since been discharged. 456 are still in the follow-up program. This is according to the CS announcement.
There were 12 new recovery cases recorded today raising the number of recoveries to 53. Also, one new death case was registered in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths from coronavirus in the country to 10.
The CS mentioned that Kenya had received donations from Jack MA and from China, France, and Germany through the WHO. He also pointed out the need for the community to actively help in the fight against coronavirus.
The number of cases of coronavirus has raised to 2, 218, 414+ worldwide with 128, 282+ death cases. The U.S has 614, 246+ cases of coronavirus with 38, 380 recoveries, and 26, 064 death cases.
