Kenya Confirms 8 More Cases of COVID-19 bringing total number to 270

Dr. Mercy Mwangagi has confirmed that there are eight new positive cases of covid-19 out of the 13, 239 tests done in the last 24 hours. The total number of people reported to be positive in the country is now at 270. Seven out of the eight positive cases are Kenyans, while one is a foreigner.

None of the 8 cases have a travel history. Four are from Mombasa, three from Nairobi, and one from Kajido.

In the last 24 hours, seven more people have been discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 67.  2 more people have also been reported to have lost their lives to coronavirus, raising the total number of deaths to 14. 

As announced by Dr. Mwangangi, 56% of the total confirmed cases are imported, while 44% are of local transmission.

The USA has reported 740, 746 cases of coronavirus out of which, 66, 676 have been discharged. The number of deaths stands at 39, 158, which is higher than in any other nation around the world.

Worldwide, the number of confirmed cases is 2, 347, 875. 604, while 604, 311 have recovered, and 161, 402 have died.
