Today at the daily press briefing at Afya house Dr. Mercy Mwangangi reported 17 new cases of covid-19 in the country. The total number of confirmed cases is now at 320. Nine of the 17 cases were males, while seven were females. All of the new cases were from Kenyans. Twelve were from Mombasa County and five from Nairobi County.
The surveillance team picked 15 of the 17 new cases, while two were from quarantine centers. Also, in the last 24 hours, six people in the country have fully recovered from the virus and discharged. The number of recoveries now stands at 89.
The United States has confirmed 855, 250 cases of Covid-19. The number of recoveries stands 78, 353, while the reported death cases stand at 47,974, which is still high than in any nation around the world. New York state carries the highest number of confirmed cases, which is 257, 216, followed by New Jersey at 95, 865.
Worldwide, there are 2, 649, 680 confirmed cases of covid-19. 721, 349 people have so far recovered, while at least 184, 643 people have died from the virus since the first case reported in December.
